My baby is 2 months old! Where did the time go?

Gabriella is two months old today. I can't believe how fast the past two months have flown by. In many ways it seems like just yesterday that we brought her home from the hospital and it just seems impossible for her to already be two months old. In many ways, however, it also seems like she has been in our lives (outside the womb, that is) for much more than just two months. We could not imagine our lives without her, nor can we believe that we didn't feel empty everyday without her. In this case, we didn't know what we were missing until we had her. She is such a blessing.

She is growing up so fast! A week ago she weighed 10 lb 6.5 oz. She can now smile ear to ear and hold cooing conversations (talents she developed around 1 month). She knows how to suck on her hand and is even starting to reach out at things (like the toys in her jungle gym, or mommy's lips when we're talking to each other). She is doing really well with tummy time and can hold her head up way tall. She was even pushing herself up so high the other day that she tumbled over sideways and landed on her back. She was so cute and confused, like "what just happened?" She seems to have a very calm pensive temperment but does have a fussy period most evenings. She is sleeping well at night (once she finally goes down...that part is still challenging) and alert more hours than not during the day. She is such a curious little girl, always taking the world in through wide serious eyes. She loves to sit on mommy's lap at the piano, look at the pictures on the wall, read stories, sing and whistle, dance to music, and stare at Nikki.

Gabriella is the answer to our prayers and is continually blessing and enriching our lives with every new day. It is amazing to look at her and reflect on how good God has been to us. Sometimes it is still hard to believe that we created this perfect little person.
