Rainbow Weather

Last night, my youngest sister Emily held a concert for her Senior Project and in order to raise money for Haiti relief services. It was her first time performing with the backing of a band, showcasing her personal portfolio of compositions but adding a new dimension to her music that was really amazing. While it is always impressive to listen to my baby sister's incredible talent, last night was unusually special.

Unbeknownst to Andrew and I, Emily had written a new piece about a week ago called "Rainbow Weather." Introducing the song for the first time ever, Emily told the audience that our story was the inspiration for the song. I sobbed through the whole thing. It's a beautiful piece, and while we wish that she never had reason to write it, it was a pretty accurate testament to the experience.
