Gabriella Grace at 9 (& 1/2) months old!

I don't know how it happened.  Gabriella Grace has now been outside of me for as long as she was inside of me.  Remember when she was known as "Pip" instead of "Gabbie?"  Well the past nine months have been even more wonderful than the first and it has been so amazing getting to know our little girl.

When she was born, Gabriella weighed in at 6 lbs 14 oz and was 18.5 inches long.  Now she measures 17 lb 15 oz and 28 inches.  Wow.  That was some good growing.  She's tall slender little baby, 78th percentile for height and only 26th percentile for weight.  To us she is 100% perfect.

Here are some of her recent accomplishments since my last big update:
  • Waving: This started off as an entire arm motion and now she's a pro at just using her hand to wave by clenching and releasing her fist.
  • Finger-foods: Most days she is a really good eater.  It's awesome that she can handle different textures now so that she can typically join in with what mommy and daddy are eating, though I am still pureeing as well.
  • "Speed"-crawling: She absolutely loves to chase Mommy or Daddy or Nikki around the house.  She loves being chased even more!
  • Supported standing and walking: She will pull herself to standing at any and all furniture, or even uses the wall or door.  Plus she is walking along the couch or coffee table!
  • Stairs: She can climb up the stairs in a flash but still hasn't fully figured out how to back her way back down (Mommy or Daddy are always right behind her whether going up or down!)
  • Clapping: She had been doing a very uncoordinated Gabbie-version of clapping for a while but then we didn't see it much in the past few weeks.  Today though I got her going again while singing "If you're happy and you know it..."
  • Hugs & Kisses: She snuggles into your shoulder/neck and squeezes tight or lays a big wet baby kiss right on your lips...melts your heart.

Every day is full of new discoveries.  It is just so much fun.  Gabriella's personality is coming out more and more and it is just incredible.  She can be really shy with people at first, but once she warms up a bit then she is one active social little girl.
