Our Fourth of July weekend was very nice and relaxing. We packed up the car and headed up to my parents' house in Anacortes for a sunny getaway at the lake. Andrew brought up his bike to do some training rides (which I assume he will eventually blog about here), we went hiking and sailing, and we enjoyed good food and good company. My parents' neighbors put on a very impressive fireworks show to rival the Seattle Center. Even more impressive is that Gabriella slept through the whole thing! Nikki (who loves loves loves the water but always previously had to run in from shore) finally conquered her fear of jumping in off the dock. And even more impressive than the fireworks show or Gabbie's peaceful slumber is Nikki's new talent of climbing up the ladder onto the dock from the water. Really, I didn't even know it was possible for a dog to climb a ladder. And it's not like she is even starting from solid ground, or ground at all. She can climb up the ladder from mid-swim. What a nut!

Wow, sounds like such a great time!! And congrats on your fund-raiser being a success. Your parents' home has a breath-taking view.
