Gabriella's First Easter

It was so exciting to celebrate Gabriella's very first Easter.
I found a beautiful Easter dress for her to wear on Sunday to Mass.  She looked like a perfect little angel in pink.  Usually she's a pretty good girl in church- a few little squeels and outbursts here and there but generally quiets down quickly and isn't too too squirmy.  Unfortunately that wasn't quite the case on Easter.  She woke a bit early that morning (maybe she was just super excited to proclaim the good news?)  so she was pretty tired and cranky during church since she was needing a nap.  But once she got rested up, she was a happy baby once more.  Her big smiles were much more fitting for the joyful nature of the day!

After Mass we headed up to Grandma & Grandpa Leopold's house in Anacortes to celebrate.  Gabriella and cousin Harley were absolutely adorable together.  Now that Gabbie is almost 9 months old (How did that happen?!) and Harley just had her first birthday, they are finally beginning to interact a bit more.

Gabriella's big poofy dress was a bit too, well, big and poofy for crawling around and playing so eventually she got to change.  And it just worked out perfect that the dress Harley wore was one Grandma had given both girls.  And that we had packed it just in case the big poofy dress was in fact just that.  So then we had to get some cute photos of the girls as twinsies.  Plus Grandma and Grandpa wanted to get a nice picture with their two granddaughters, and one of their whole crew of children and grandchildren.

When we got home from Anacortes, we got on Skype so Gabriella could see her Grandma and Grandpa Steinbrecher too.  She loves when we video-chat with her grandparents, especially since she started crawling and we let her chase them around the room!

It was a very special Easter. I hope you all had a wonderful day too, full of the joy of the risen Lord and the love of family and friends!

  1. Happy Easter! What a great set of pictures. I love the laptop-chasing skype session...maybe we'll need to set that up for our kids' grandparents! I'm glad Gabriella was feeling better for Easter.
