Lookin' a bit Farther North...

The house hunt continues. We will be looking at more homes tomorrow after I'm done with work. We've got our #1 and #2 choices, but then we've had those before :-). They say that pictures say 1,000 words, but I think marketing pictures only say about 750, and the pictures that SHOULD'VE been taken say about 2,000. It's still fun.

We've decided that we need to start looking a bit farther north. If we don't we will end up with a home that is too old for our preferences and I'd be able to spit on my neighbors house from inside my house. We need a bit more of a yard - not that some that we are looking at are all that huge. So we have inched our way up to the Mill Creek area. And, all things considered, this may be a better option should Sarah be able to get a position at Providence Medical Center.

Our number one choice is a cute tri-level that is nearly 2,100 sf (I can't remember specifically) on a lot that's about 7,000 if my memory serves me correct. It has a nice open floor plan with 4 bedrooms and 3 baths. Our number two choice is a bit larger than we need (2,596 sf, 5 bed, 3 bath) but it is newer (built in 2004), doesn't have as much yard (but is in close proximity to the development park), and they just took a relatively decent price drop down to $384k which puts it at only $153/sf.

We'll have to let you know how those "real life" observations turn out. IT'S SO EXCITING.

But it's also a major internal struggle too. Sarah and I have really come to love Blessed Sacrament. It's home to us. The Dominicans are so great, the community so vibrant and diverse, and the celebrations really bring you toward more praise and adoration of Christ. From the Bothell area it was definitely an option to keep going to Blessed Sacrament and dealing with the added distance. But now it would be even farther and we will have many conversations to see what that does for us. It gives us such spiritual nourishment but where do you draw the line. It's just really hard because the community is so great, we have been getting more and more involved (I spent more time there during Holy Week and the Triduum than in our own apartment) and it is really a great experience. I'm sure there will be more to come on this subject - including debates, both internally and externally. Just need to follow His guiding desire. Until then, we will rejoice in this Easter season with our community and be filled weekly through His food and the Dominican ways.
